Homeless in Columbus?

The Yearly United Way Point in Time Count, which represents the total unsheltered and known sheltered individuals experiencing homelessness ranges from 200-400 each year. While this does not include the number of individuals who are at risk of homelessness or are temporarily housed, this gives us an estimate of the individuals in need of services at a given time in Columbus/Muscogee County. The majority of these individuals are experiencing an emergency or immediate housing crisis, followed by those in transitional housing, and 10% of the homeless population being chronic. Freedom, Grace, and Trinity Houses serve to provide transitional housing to men and women with over 60% leaving for permanent housing when they stay with us at least one night. With resources for food, housing, and jobs, SafeHouse Ministries seeks to address the needs of people needing emergency assistance and offer resources for success.
