Freedom House

Freedom House is SafeHouse Ministries' 104 bed facility for men as they seek to become productive members of the community. Over 1,000 men have stayed at Freedom House since opening in 2014.  Over 60% of these men have saved enough money to move into their own permanent housing!

Our goal is to work with clients to find employment and financial stability to sustain permanent housing. Residence's experience includes meals, devotions,  job programs for those unemployed and a case manager to work alongside. Freedom House is an inclusive facility and embraces relationship as a key means of finding renewal and restoration!

Testimony

Chris testimony for freedom house.png
Chris arrived at Grace House (now Freedom House) in March 2017 by way of New Horizons.  Family problems led him down the path of substance abuse, but Chris wanted a change.  Since joining us, Chris used our program to find employment and progress in his recovery.  He successfully saved money and moved out of Grace House into his own housing.  Chris's relationship with his family has improved and is actively involved with his children.  He changed the direction of his life and is enjoying being clean and sober once again.
"Grace House is truly a blessingto me.  When I had no place to go, theGrace House has given me a safe haven from which I can work, save my money, and get back to living life as God intended me to live."

Chris, 2017

History of the Freedom House

When SafeHouse began, there were no facilities in existence which allowed a man a stable living environment to be able to work and save enough money to get his own place. While emergency shelters were in operation, they did not meet the need for men in need of this type of more dependable housing. So we started praying. God eventually led us to an abandoned apartment complex in Beallwood. This property had been stripped of copper and anything of value by the time we acquired it. By God’s grace, we renovated it and opened in December of 2014. This original location for our men's shelter was known as Grace House.  During 2022 God did another great miracle and gave SafeHouse Ministries an even larger facility out on Schatoulga road which we have moved the men to and where we now have 104 beds available for men as they transition back into a job and save up money for a place of their own.  Over 850 men have stayed at Freedom House with over 60% leaving to permanent housing.
